Bishop J. Louis Felton, President of the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity (BCPV) stated, “Senator Casey’s commitment to serving as a leader to eradicate and respond to some of the most severe, pressing issues in the City of Philadelphia and beyond. As the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity we stand firm on holding governmental officials accountable and serving as partners in the work of revitalizing and rebuilding our communities and families of this region. We are looking forward to this partnership and are ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work.”
“I’m grateful to meet with the newly elected President and Officers of the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and to hear directly about the biggest issues facing Philadelphians. The stories, successes, and struggles of their congregations inform so much of my work in Washington—from lowering costs to combatting gun violence to removing lead pipes and ensuring clean water. Pennsylvania’s future is brightest when we invest in working families and provide them with opportunities to succeed.”
